System of a Down

System of a Down is labeled as a "Metal" band but they are really in a whole league of their own. Their music ranges from screamo, to some hardcore singing, and there are even some songs that are more alternative. System of a Down was first officially started in Glendale, California in 1995 by lead vocals Serj Tankian and Daron Malakian, lead guitarist and backup vocals. They have since released five amazing albums and three EP's with fourteen amazing singles. I have put the video of my personal favorite of their songs, B.Y.O.B. so please watch it and tell me what you think.

Vanna

I don't even know much about this band even as I'm writing this. All I know is that I have only heard one song by them and I loved it, it is probably my favorite song at the moment. The song I have is called A Dead Language for a Dying Lady and what I liked about it is that it has the lead singer singing the lyrics while a backup singer screams the samething at the same time so it is an almost perfect combination--not too much singing, not too much screaming. Since I don't know almost anything about this band, I had to look up their biography. They were formed in 2004 with just the vocalist and guitarist. They later got a drummer, bassist, and backup vocalist and released an E.P. titled This Will Be Our Little Secret. In 2006 they started recording their debut album The Search Party Never Came, which has the song I told you about earlier. While they were still recording, the origional vocalist had to lead the band and Nick Lambert, the guitarist, took over for the remainder of the CD. They later got a new vocalist, Chris Preece. Underoath

Underoath was started in 1998 with nothing but a guitarist and lead vocals. They later gained a drummer, Aaron Gillespie (also at vocals), which is the only member who has stayed with the band since the beginning. Underoath released an EP in 1999 and then another a year later. Then in 2002, the band published their first album, The Changing of Times. Two years later, they released their best and most successful album to date, They're Only Chasing Safety, which debuted at number one on the Billboard Heatseekers Chart. After another two years they released another CD, Define the Great Line. Underoath then released their Underoath 777 DVD in July of this year and are planning on releasing two more albums by the end of 2008. Evanescence

Formed in 1998, Evanescence was one of the only Alternative Rock/Metal band with a female at lead vocals. This new music style was recieved extremely well, allowing them to release three more EPs and four albums. Their most recent album, The Open Door, was just released in October of 2006. I have put a video of Good Enough from The Open Door at the bottom of the page so watch it and tell me what you think.

Atreyu

Formed in 1998, the band Atreyu was origionally named Retribution but was changed when they found out about another band of that name so they chose their name from a character of the movie, The Neverending Story. Over the course of their nine years and counting as the amazing hardcore/metal band that they are, Atreyu has come out with two EPs and four albums, each with atleast one great single. They have just come out with a new album towards the end of August that debuted as number eight on the Billboard 200. I have their music video Crimson at the bottom of the page so watch it and tell me how you like it.

The White Stripes

The White Stripes were formed in 1997. The band consists of only two members, Jack White on guitar and lead vocals, and his wife Meg on drums and vocals. The band has since published six albums, including one just recently, Icky Thump, which contains one of my favorite songs of all times by the same name. I have posted a video of them playing live at the bottom of the page so if you haven't watched any of my videos, then at least watch this one... and the As I Lay Dying one.

Avenged Sevenfold

Avenged Sevenfold, also sometimes known as A7X, was formed in 1999. The group came out with their first album in 2001, Sounding the Seventh. Two years later, they released their second album titled Waking the Fallen. They later came out with City of Evil in 2005 and just recently, Avenged Sevenfold this year. I have put a video of their song Almost Easy at the bottom so check it out and as always tell me what you think.

AFI

AFI (abbreviation for A Fire Inside) was formed in 1991 when Davey Havok (lead vocals), Markus Stopholese (lead guitar), Vick (bass), and Adam Carson (drums) were attending high school in California. Vick was later replaced by Geoff Kresge before they all split up to go to college. During a holiday break, the band got together again to do a small reunion show but the crowd liked it so much that they all decided to quit school and follow music as a career. They then worked their way up to where they are now. With already twelve albums out, AFI has become arguably the best pop/punk band in America in decades. Guns N' Roses

There is no one word to describe Guns N' Roses. They are one of the best rock bands in history. They have been around since 1985 and are just as popular now, if not more popular than they were then. The closest word to describe them is probably 'timeless.' I put a video of them in concert singing Sweet Child O' Mine at the bottom of the page so check it out and tell me how much you love them.

Rise Against

Rise Against is a rock/punk band started in 1999 when 88 Fingers Louie bassist Joe Principe talked to vocalist Tim McIlrath about starting a hardcore band. And so started the amazing punk band, Rise Against. They have dozens of amazing songs but my personal favorite is Prayer of the Refugee. Watch the video at the bottom and tell me what you think.

As I Lay Dying

As I Lay Dying is probably one of the best known Metal bands in America or mabey even the world. They have come out with six albums in only six years. They have millions of fans around the world. A.I.L.D. has an awesome beat, great drummer, and one of the best screamers of any band in history. If you have never heard them before then one, what is wrong with you, and two, I put a video of them performing one of their best songs, Forever, towards the bottom of the page so watch that and then tell me what you think.
